Crew names and logged role
PIC/SIC crew names and PIC/SIC/dual hours have different meanings. Check both. When the source contains mixed role hours, TopLog may ask you to review the primary role; original role-hour values remain in import details.

Import your LogTen logbook into TopLog
Export LogTen flights as a tab-delimited TXT file, import them into TopLog on iOS or web, and review aircraft, crew, hours, and simulator records before saving.
Choose the flight export, not a printed report
TopLog’s LogTen importer reads the tab-delimited flight export. A PDF logbook or a full LogTen database backup is a different kind of file and cannot be used in this spreadsheet workflow.
- In LogTen on your Mac, select the flight group and date range you want to export. Use all entries for a complete flight-history export.
- Open Reports → Exporters → Export Flights (Tab) and generate the report.
- Save the resulting .txt file. Keep an unchanged copy; you do not need to rename it to CSV.
- In TopLog, start a spreadsheet import, select LogTen, choose your logbook country, and upload the file.

What the LogTen importer reads
The standard export contains names such as flight_flightDate, aircraft_aircraftID, and flight_totalTime. Those identify the format. TopLog also reads the available aircraft type, route, crew, role time, instrument time, landings, and remarks.
Simulator sessions
A simulator session is kept in Simulator / FTD. Simulated instrument time within that session is retained in the import details rather than also being added to aircraft Hood time. Review simulator and flight totals separately.
Approaches and routes
TopLog records supported approach counts and retains the source details for review. Check intermediate stops and any route that could not be fully represented as airport stops.
Extra LogTen fields
Custom columns do not necessarily become separate TopLog fields. Read the additional-field notes before saving, especially if you use LogTen-specific properties in reports.
What stays in your LogTen backup
Coradine describes this as a flight-data export, not a complete database backup. Signatures and images are not included. Additional information attached to People and Aircraft records may also need a separate export. Keep those original records alongside the flight TXT file.
TopLog imports a copy of the supported flight records. It does not connect to your LogTen account or keep later changes synchronized. Saving the reviewed import requires Standard or Unlimited.
If the file needs attention
If the format is not recognized, confirm you generated Export Flights (Tab), rather than a dynamic report or another exporter. Export again before editing column names. If the review flags a row, compare it with that flight in LogTen, correct the source where necessary, and re-upload.
